Davao City embraces modern tech to advance precision agriculture

The City Agriculturist Office (CAgro) is ramping up efforts to modernize farming practices by incorporating precision agriculture technologies, including the Geographic Information System (GIS). In a news release Friday, CAgro’s Agricultural Biosystem Engineering Division head Christian John Abrenica said the technology allows for precise application of inputs like fertilizers, pesticides, and water, improving overall efficiency. “We utilize software to create maps, and we are currently developing one for Davao City that details land cover and the various crops grown. Rest area to rise soon in tourist-ready Sulu

Manila: A rest area for leisure travelers will soon rise in Patikul, Sulu, the Department of Tourism (DOT) announced Friday, citing the province’s ‘readiness for tourism.’ The tourist rest area (TRA) is a flagship program of the DOT, providing major destinations a one-stop shop where visitors can rest, use clean toilets and buy local products. Bursa Malaysia Ends Morning Session Higher

Bursa Malaysia ended the morning trading session higher, tracking Wall Street’s rally overnight. At 12.30 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) advanced 6.96 points to 1,672.61 from Thursday’s close of 1,665.65. The benchmark index opened 5.03 points higher at 1,670.68 and moved between 1,669.37 and 1,674.04 throughout the session.
