Former Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Eddin Syazlee Shith, passed away at 7.10 am today at his home in Bukit Chedang. Negeri Sembilan Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman, Mohamad Hanifah Abu Baker, said that the health of the 50-year-old PN state advisor had been deteriorating over the past five months and he had been receiving medical treatment. ‘Datuk Eddin was brought home yesterday after receiving treatment at a private hospital here. China, Japan reach ‘consensus’ on treated nuclear waste

China on Friday said it reached a “consensus” with Japan on treated nuclear waste released by Tokyo into the seas from the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant. “Japanese side has made it clear that it will earnestly fulfill its obligations under international law, make every effort to avoid negative impacts on people and the environment, and will continue to carry out impact assessments on the marine environment and marine ecology,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. China launches 6 new satellites into space

China on Friday launched six new satellites into space, state media reported. The Jilin-1 Kuanfu 02B 01-06 satellites were sent into space from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in the northern Shanxi province. A home-built Long March-2D carrier rocket carried the satellites, which entered the preset orbit successfully. It was 536th flight mission of Chia’s Long March carrier rocket series. The latest satellite launch comes a day after China launched two new BeiDou-3 Navigation Satellite System (BDS-3) satellites.
