Penang Allocates Close To RM13 Million To Pay Allowances Of MPPK Members

TASEK GELUGOR, The Penang State Government allocated close to RM13 million this year for payment of various allowances to the appointed Village Community Management Council (MPKK) members in the state. Penang Deputy Chief Minister I, Datuk Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid said the amount includes the Chairman’s Fixed Allowance (RM700), RM600 for the Secretary’s Fixed Allowance, and RM300 for the Treasurer’s Fixed Allowance. Apart from the fixed allowances, a Meeting Management Allowance is paid RM100 while a Meeting Attendance Allowance of RM100 is provided for 12 meetings a year, bringing the total allocation to RM12.975 million. KUALA LUMPUR, The Perlis Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrested three individuals, including a delivery company owner, on suspicion of soliciting a RM15,000 bribe from a cosmetics company owner.
