Meralco rates lower by 36 centavos/kWh in Oct.

Manila: After three straight months of power rate hikes, the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) on Friday announced lower electricity rates in October. In a statement, Meralco said the rate this month will decrease by PHP0.3587 per kilowatt hour (kWh) to PHP11.4295 per kWh from PHP11.7882 per kWh in September. An oil tanker crashed and overturned at KM27.8 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway at about 5.30 pm. Tahfiz School Teacher Charged With Physical Sexual Assault On Nine-Year-Old Boy

A tahfiz school teacher pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here today to physically sexually assaulting a nine-year-old boy. Muhammad Ilyas Jamaludin, 33, is charged with committing the offence at the school in Tasik Senangin, Lenggeng from early to the end of last year. The charge, under Section 14 (b) of the Sexual Offenses Against Children Act 2017, provides imprisonment for up to 20 years and whipping upon conviction.
