Dengue Cases Drop In 40th Epidemiological Week, Three Deaths Reported

The number of dengue fever cases has dropped to 1,639 during the 40th Epidemiological Week (EW40) covering the period from Sept 29 to Oct 5, compared to 1,760 cases reported in the previous week. In a statement regarding the dengue fever situation in Malaysia today, Health director-general Datuk Dr Muhammad Radzi Abu Hassan said that three deaths due to dengue fever complications were reported in EW40. Inkia Energy, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Kallpa, received environmental approval for the expansion of its solar power plant currently under construction in Southern Peru, a leading global solar resource hub. The approval will bring the solar project, Sunny, from 228 MWp to 338 MWp, and is expected to be fully operational by the second half of 2025. Bursa Malaysia’s barometer index opened lower, in line with Wall Street’s weaker performance, as traders reacted negatively to September’s United States consumer price index figure, which came in higher than anticipated, said an analyst.
