Jasin Floods Due To Heavy Rainfall And High Tides

JASIN, The heavy rainfall over the past two days and the phenomenon of high tides have been contributing factors to the flooding in several areas in Jasin today, according to a senior state executive councillor. Flood Victims In Perak, Pahang, Melaka Rise, Kedah And Johor See Decrease

KUALA LUMPUR, The number of flood victims in Perak, Pahang, and Melaka has continued to rise as of 8 pm tonight, while the number of victims in Kedah and Johor has decreased. In PERAK, the number of victims increased to 1,586 people from 498 families, compared to 1,267 people from 378 families earlier this afternoon, in four districts, namely Kerian, Kuala Kangsar, Hulu Perak, and Muallim, who are still sheltering in 10 relief centres. FBM KLCI Futures Ends Lower

KUALA LUMPUR, The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower on Monday despite the better underlying cash market’s performance. Spot month October 2024 shed 4.5 points to 1,633.50, November 2024 and March 2025 slid 3.0 points to 1,637.50 and 1,629.0, respectively, while December 2024 fell 4.0 points to 1,640. Turnover decreased to 5,984 lots from 6,258 last Friday, while open interest narrowed to 46,388 contracts from 46,608 previously.
