Over 9K families redeem DSWD food stamps in Bicol

A total of 9,116 households have benefited from the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Walang Gutom: Food Stamp Program through their electronic benefit transfer (EBT) cards worth PHP3,000 each. Sheryl Lofamia, DSWD-5 Food Stamp Program coordinator, said the beneficiaries from the provinces of Sorsogon and Camarines Sur redeemed their food stamp from August to September this year. “Each household beneficiary was able to utilize PHP3,000 worth of food credits. 4 nabbed in Manila for falsifying public documents

MANILA: The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday reported the arrest of four individuals for falsifying public documents. The NBI identified the suspects as Paul Abellera, Edgardo Carpio, and Jenny Trajano, as well as a minor, who were caught in the act of falsifying official documents during an operation in Sta. Cruz, Manila on Oct. 15. Recovered from the four were computers, office tools, and spurious documents, such as NBI clearance, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) birth certificates, land titles, passports, and Land Transportation Office certificates. ASA 2024: 1,860 Entries From Local Creative Industry, Broadcasting Practitioners – Fahmi Fadzil

KUALA LUMPUR, The Anugerah Seri Angkasa (ASA) 2024 has received a total of 1,860 entries from local creative industry and broadcasting practitioners, marking a 17 per cent increase compared to 1,585 nominations in ASA 2022, said Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil. He noted that the participation in three media comprised 1,287 for television, 515 for radio, and 58 in new media. ‘ASA 2024 is contested in 60 categories, with 40 for television, 16 for radio and four in new media categories. ‘For the first time, ASA 2024 will also introduce a new category under new media for Best Podcast,’ he said

CPO Futures Rebound To Close Higher Tracking Bullish CBOT Soybean Oil

KUALA LUMPUR, Crude palm oil (CPO) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives rebounded to close higher on Wednesday, tracking gains in the Chicago Board of Trade’s soybean oil futures overnight. Palm oil trader David Ng said better export prospects and a weaker production outlook also lifted sentiment for the golden crop. ‘Export estimates point to an increase in export pace this month, while production surveys indicate weaker production output, which may lower the overall stock level in the country. ‘Hence, this is seen as price-supportive for CPO futures,’ he told Bernama.
