NIA completes 61.8% of infra projects in Ilocos region

MALASIQUI, Pangasinan – The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) 1 (Ilocos Region) has completed 61.8 percent of its 155 infrastructure projects for 2024 as of Oct. 15. NIA-1 manager, engineer Danilo Gomez, during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas forum on Tuesday, said the agency was allocated PHP5.25 billion for these projects. ‘Kristine’ downs 6 transmission lines

Manila: The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) reported that six 69 kilovolt (kV) transmission lines in the Visayas and Luzon have gone out as of 2 p.m. Tuesday amid the onslaught of Tropical Storm Kristine. SC halts Comelec reso on denial of dismissed officials’ candidacies

Manila: The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued a temporary restraining order against the Commission on Elections (Comelec) from implementing a resolution denying the certificates of candidacy (COC) of candidates dismissed by the Office of the Ombudsman, including those whose cases are on appeal. NIA completes 50 solar pump irrigation projects in W. Visayas

ILOILO CITY – The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) has finished the implementation of 50 solar pump irrigation projects in Western Visayas, serving 918 hectares of service areas benefiting 661 farmer beneficiaries, an official reported on Tuesday.
