BSP’s Monetary Board OKs $3.81-B foreign borrowings in Q3 2024

Manila: The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) Monetary Board approved USD3.81 billion public sector foreign borrowings in the third quarter of the year. Data released by the BSP on Tuesday showed the public sector’s foreign borrowings from July to September this year went up by 36 percent from the USD2.81 billion in the same period last year. The borrowings include one bond issuance amounting to USD2.50 billion, two project loans worth USD535.97 million, and one program loan amounting to USD778.59 million. BACOLOD CITY – Average residential power rates in Negros Occidental, including Bacolod City, decreased in October due to the lower generation charge following the reduction in prices of the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM). Davao logs 5K dengue cases, 50 deaths Jan to Oct

DAVAO CITY – The City Health Office (CHO) here recorded 5,000 dengue cases and 50 fatalities from January to October this year, according to an official statement on Tuesday. Dr. Tomas Miguel Ababon, CHO officer-in-charge, said the villages with the highest cases are Talomo Proper and Buhangin. ‘We continue to urge the community to help prevent dengue by maintaining clean surroundings and eliminating mosquito breeding sites,’ Ababon said in a statement.
