Signal no. 3 still up as ‘Kristine’ now over Cordillera

Manila: Parts of the Cordillera are placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 as Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (International name: Trami) continues to move over the region, the weather bureau said Thursday. As of 10 a.m., Kristine was located in the vicinity of Bauko, Mountain Province. The severe tropical storm packs maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph. DSWD sends relief to 2,882 typhoon victims in Cordillera

Around PHP486,127 worth of humanitarian assistance have been provided to families from the Cordillera who were affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (Trami). The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) said the assistance were provided with the help of local government units and other partners to 866 families comprised of 2,882 members, who are staying in 73 evacuation centers across the region.
