Tala residents urge SC to resolve pending cases

MANILA – More than 1,000 residents of the Tala estate in Caloocan on Monday asked the Supreme Court (SC) to resolve the pending cases on the alleged spurious sales of the property. ‘Thousands have invested 30 years of their lives and resources for decent housing. 1,400 farmers, fisherfolk to get free life insurance

LAOAG CITY – Some 1,400 farmers and fishers from Currimao, Ilocos Norte are targeted for the first-ever life insurance coverage program of the municipal government in collaboration with the Philippine Crop Insurance Corp. (PCIC). Under the Agricultural Producers Protection Plan (AP3) of the PCIC, insured beneficiaries are entitled to a maximum of PHP50,000 coverage in case of death due to accident, natural causes and murder or assault, with a one-year validity. SC asked to void Taguig ordinance hiking number of councilors

MANILA – Retired Supreme Court (SC) associate justice Dante Tiñga on Monday filed a petition asking the high court to nullify a Taguig City ordinance that increased from eight to 12 the number of elected councilors in the city’s two districts.
