Bulacan Robbery Leads to Seizure of Guns, Explosives in Malabon

Malabon: Authorities recovered a large cache of firearms and explosives in Malabon City, Metro Manila on Saturday, just hours after a robbery in Bustos, Bulacan. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. in Barangay Liciada, where Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team members responded to gunshots and found a victim with a gunshot wound to the leg. The suspects reportedly robbed the victim before fleeing toward Pandi town in a gray sedan.

According to Philippines News Agency, by 6:30 a.m., Bustos police launched an intelligence-driven investigation that extended to Metro Manila. Around 3:15 p.m., a joint operation by Bustos Municipal Police, Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence Division, and Malabon City Police led to the apprehension of several suspects in Barangay Panghulo, Malabon.

Police recovered multiple high-powered weapons, a Benelli upper receiver, a hand grenade, ammunition, magazines, mobile phones, and a bulletproof vest marked ‘NBI.’ All items were undergoing forensic examination as investigators probe potential links to larger criminal groups or gun-running operations.
