Manila: The College of St. Benilde (CSB) and Arellano University achieved wins in the NCAA Season 101 women's volleyball tournament held at the Emilio Aguinaldo College gym.
According to Philippines News Agency, Zamantha Nolasco led CSB with 28 points, consisting of 18 attacks, eight blocks, and two aces, as they defeated San Sebastian College - Recoletos with scores of 25-22, 23-25, 23-25, 25-13, 15-5. Clydel Mae Catarig added 20 points, while Shekaina Redge Lleses, Camila Amor Bartolome, and Cristy Ondangan scored 15, 13, and 10 points respectively. Chenae Basarte, the captain, provided 26 excellent sets, contributing to the Lady Blazers' improved record of 8-3 in Group A. Juna May Gonzales scored 27 points for the Lady Stags, who now have a record of 5-7.
In another match, Arellano University overcame San Beda University with scores of 22-25, 19-25, 26-24, 25-17, 15-12, maintaining the third spot in Group B with a 5-6 record. Samantha Gabrielle Tiratira led the Lady Chiefs with 15 points, including seven blocks, supported by Cassey Leona Florida and Marianne Lei Angelique Padillon, who each scored 14 points, and Kheisha Alexa Abitria with 11 points. Angel Mae Habacon contributed 21 points, complemented by 10 receptions and seven digs for the Lady Red Spikers. Janelle Bachar and Jermaine Ann Joniega added 19 and 12 points respectively, with the Lady Red Spikers holding a second-place position at 9-3.
