Legazpi: The Police Regional Office (PRO) 5 (Bicol) recognized female stakeholders from various partner institutions and organizations as part of the culmination of the 2026 National Women's Month celebration at Camp Simeon Ola on Friday. The activity, with the theme, 'Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!', highlighted PRO-5's commitment to gender equality, women's empowerment, and the recognition of women's invaluable role in society.
According to Philippines News Agency, Erosito Miranda, PRO-5 director, said the celebration reflected the agency's commitment to gender equality and empowerment within the organization. He noted that female personnel and stakeholders are regarded as equal and dependable partners in achieving the agency's goals. 'Colleagues and members of this police organization and the network of stakeholders that support our cause are not only part of the community, but (are) also our partners in addressing the challenges that lie ahead,' Miranda said.
The event recognized the contributions of Filipino women as pillars of community development, peacebuilding, and nation-building, highlighting their leadership and impact across various fields. Recognized were Theresa Rose Sia, charter president of the Tabaco United Lions Clubs; Corazon Liao, member of the Municipal Advisory Council in Polangui, Albay; Nancy Mediavillo, Station Manager of Radyo Pilipinas Albay; and the Philippine News Agency - Bicol Bureau's Connie Calipay.
Teachers of the PRO-5 Children's Learning Center were also honored - Arnier Mae Balana, Anne Rose Lindo, and Jeneth Manori±a, whose commitment continues to support the learning and development of children under the institution's care. Guest of honor and speaker Lynne Lourdes Lucena, chair of the Neurosurgery Section of the Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center, highlighted the vital role of women across various professions and sectors. 'Our relationship does not end here. We need to continue working together through programs and initiatives that will benefit, not only Bicolanos but also Filipinos across the country,' Lucena said.
