Anti-POGO Regulations Strengthen PNP’s Efforts Against Illegal Gaming Operations

Manila: The Philippine National Police (PNP) welcomed the signing of the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of the Anti-POGO Act of 2025 as authorities step up efforts to prevent the return of illegal gaming operations in the country.

According to Philippines News Agency, the PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. emphasized that the new regulations provide a clearer framework for the police to pursue clandestine Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) that continue to operate despite the government ban. Nartatez reaffirmed the PNP's commitment to eradicating these operations, stating that personnel are vigilant in identifying any re-emerging POGO hubs.

Nartatez highlighted the PNP's intensified surveillance efforts against underground POGO operations and scam hubs across the country. He noted that the IRR signing enhances their campaign to completely eliminate remaining illegal POGOs, aligning with directives from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla to strengthen the government's stance against illegal POGO operations and associated criminal activities.

The PNP chief also underscored the importance of coordinating with other law enforcement agencies to track down illegal gaming operations and prevent operators from exploiting enforcement gaps. Additionally, he ordered the reinforcement of case buildups against POGO workers and individuals linked to illegal activities to ensure successful prosecution.
