11,300 Job Opportunities Presented at Ibalong Festival 2026 Grand Job Fair

Manila: At least 11,300 job vacancies were offered to jobseekers during the Ibalong Festival 2026 Grand Job Fair at Ibalong Centrum for Recreation here on Monday. Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Francis Tolentino led the activity, emphasizing the importance of connecting young people with employment opportunities.

According to Philippines News Agency, Tolentino highlighted the necessity of addressing both unemployment and underemployment by ensuring that workers' skills align with available job opportunities. He mentioned that another job fair could be expected in September or October to further support this initiative. The government, along with the private sector, aims to create more job opportunities and provide upskilling and retraining programs through agencies like the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

Legazpi City Mayor Hisham Ismail noted that the job fair was not just about filling vacancies but also about connecting jobseekers with opportunities that could improve their future and support their families. He encouraged jobseekers to apply to multiple companies to enhance their chances of securing employment.

The event saw participation from nearly 55 employers, five overseas employment agencies, and 20 government agencies, as stated by Legazpi City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) head Diosdado Reneses. Among those hired on the spot was Vincent Kirby Balingbing, a 22-year-old fresh graduate from San Jose in Malilipot, who praised the accessibility and efficiency of the fair.

Another successful jobseeker, 23-year-old Jhon Paul Borromeo from Sogod, Bacacay, expressed gratitude for the opportunity, noting the availability of jobs for fresh graduates. Marco Macasinag, 21, also appreciated the event, as it facilitated his job search by offering several opportunities in one venue.
