Affordable Loans Reach 1,200 CamSur Farmers and Fisherfolk

Camarines sur: At least 1,200 farmers, fishers, and agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Camarines Sur now have expanded access to financial and development support services following the rollout of LandBank's flagship AgriSenso Plus Lending Program earlier this week.

According to Philippines News Agency, LandBank President and CEO Ma. Lynette Ortiz stated that the continued rollout supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to boost local agricultural production and help ease economic pressures. Ortiz emphasized the importance of Camarines Sur as a critical contributor to the national economy, producing rice, coconut, high-value crops, and livestock that sustain both local communities and distant markets.

Ortiz highlighted that through the AgriSenso Plus program, the bank is expanding access to affordable financing and market support to help farmers and fishers strengthen their livelihoods and contribute to the province's long-term growth. As the largest province in the Bicol Region, Camarines Sur plays a key role in regional food production, with 29 of its 37 municipalities primarily dependent on agriculture.

Camarines Sur Governor Miguel Luis Villafuerte noted that the AgriSenso Plus rollout strengthens financial support mechanisms for the agriculture sector by providing accessible, timely, and responsive services for farmers and fisherfolk. The program offers loans at a fixed interest rate of 3 percent per annum, along with technical assistance and market support. It is designed to help farmers, fisherfolk, agrarian reform beneficiaries, and agri-based enterprises expand operations, adopt modern technologies, and improve productivity and incomes.

As of March 2026, LandBank reported that the AgriSenso Plus Program has approved over PHP3.62 billion in loans, benefiting more than 15,100 small farmers and fisherfolk nationwide. LandBank reaffirmed its commitment to empowering the agriculture sector by expanding financial access, strengthening market linkages, and providing support services to improve productivity and ensure long-term growth.
