Aboitiz-Run Airports See Over 16 Million Passengers in 2025

Makati: Three airports managed by Aboitiz InfraCapital, Inc. (AIC) accommodated more than 16 million passengers in 2025.

According to Philippines News Agency, AIC reported that a total of 16.17 million passenger arrivals were recorded at Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), Laguindingan International Airport (LIA), and Bohol-Panglao International Airport (BPIA).

AIC noted that the passenger volume underscores the increasing importance of its airports in facilitating tourism, business travel, and regional economic growth. Of the total passengers, MCIA accounted for 11.6 million, marking a nearly 3 percent increase from 11.3 million in 2024. LIA saw 2.35 million passengers, while BPIA logged 2.22 million.

The company highlighted several key connectivity initiatives that spurred passenger growth. These include 'CEB Connects,' an air-to-air transfer service that reduces transfer times between international and domestic flights. Other initiatives such as 'CEB+,' a short air-to-sea transfer service from MCIA to Mactan Wharf, and 'CEB Balik,' an overseas Filipino workers (OFW) facilitation kiosk, position MCIA as the main Visayas-Mindanao OFW gateway.

These programs, AIC stated, offer hassle-free access to and from Cebu and other regions through MCIA, enhancing the overall travel experience within the Philippines.
