Davao city: A total of 61,146 Dabawenyos availed of services during Davao's Caravan of Government Services in 2025, the city government reported Thursday. Jimboy Pa±al, the City Mayor's Office's Barangay Affairs team leader, said in a statement that the service caravans were held in the city's 182 barangays.
According to Philippines News Agency, the success of the initiative was attributed to the strong collaboration between the city government, partner agencies, and the community. The caravans aim to ensure that every resident can access the services offered by the local government and other agencies, especially those living in the city's far-flung areas.
The initiative also serves as an avenue for the government to connect with the people at the community level to see and thoroughly assess the situation, concerns, and issues on the ground. Pa±al stated that the majority of Dabawenyos availed of the services from offices such as the City Health Office and the Philippine Statistics Authority.
Pa±al also noted plans to add more staff to cater to the beneficiaries of the caravan and optimize the time for registrations. For 2026, the government services caravan is set to start on Feb. 10 in Barangay Bantol, Marilog District, in time for the celebration of its Araw ng Barangay.
He urged Dabawenyos to continue joining and availing of programs and services offered during the caravan.
