Caraga: The Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 (Caraga) has reported the arrest of 60 individuals during a series of law enforcement operations conducted from November 11 to 18 in the area. Of these arrests, nine individuals were classified as most wanted persons at the regional level, facing criminal charges of rape, murder, and arson.
According to Philippines News Agency, one of the most wanted individuals arrested at the regional level was alias Jeva, 50, the finance officer of the New People’s Army Guerrilla Front 30 under the North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee. The suspect is listed as one of the top 5 most wanted in the region for the crimes of arson and violation of the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003.
The breakdown of the total arrests shows that 18 were carried out by the Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO), 15 by Butuan City Police Office, 11 by Surigao del Norte PPO, 11 by Surigao del Sur PPO, and five by Agusan del Norte PPO.
‘These arrests reflect our firm resolve to deliver justice for victims and to ensure that those who attempt to evade the law are made accountable,’ PRO-13 Director Brig. Gen. Marcial Mariano Magistrado IV said in a statement. He also acknowledged the support from other security units in the region and the communities that contributed to the success of the recent law enforcement operations.
