44 Arrested, P139-K Shabu Seized in Surigao Norte Police Drive

Manila: The Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office (SDNPPO) announced the arrest of 44 individuals during a weeklong Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations conducted in the province from August 25 to 31.

According to Philippines News Agency, among those apprehended, 10 were identified as wanted persons, with three classified as most wanted fugitives at the provincial level. The operations included 11 buy-bust activities leading to the arrest of two high-value targets and nine street-level drug personalities. Authorities confiscated 20.56 grams of shabu valued at PHP139,825.68.

In addition to the drug-related arrests, five unregistered small firearms were voluntarily surrendered to different stations and units of SDNPPO in five separate operations. Other arrests were related to violations of environmental and fisheries laws, smuggling, and gambling offenses.

The SDNPPO also conducted 136 operations to ensure compliance with local ordinances, sanctioning 552 violators and collecting PHP145,425 in administrative fines. "Through coordinated efforts, unwavering professionalism, and steadfast dedication, the SDNPPO remains fully committed to fulfilling its mandate: preserving peace and order across the province by ensuring that law violators are brought to justice," stated SDNPPO Director Col. Warren Dablo in the report.
