Manila: Over 41,000 families have been severely affected by the recent adverse weather conditions, which include the southwest monsoon, tropical cyclone Jacinto, and a recent low-pressure area. This information was detailed in a report by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Monday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the NDRRMC’s latest report highlights that a total of 41,297 families, translating to 201,465 individuals, have been impacted across 180 barangays. The affected regions include Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Soccsksargen, Caraga, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

As of Monday morning, efforts to aid those displaced are ongoing, with 1,126 families or 5,067 individuals being accommodated in 16 evacuation centers. Additionally, 30,645 families, equating to 153,225 people, are receiving assistance while staying outside these centers.

The NDRRMC report also indicates significant damage to housing in the affected regions, with 445 houses compromised. Of these, 425 were partially damaged while 20 were completely destroyed, impacting areas in Mimaropa, Zamboanga Peninsula, Soccsksargen, and BARMM.

Thus far, the assistance provided to the affected families has amounted to PHP2.94 million, aiding 1,567 families in coping with the aftermath of these severe weather conditions.
