3 weather systems to bring rains over parts of PH

Three weather systems will bring rains over parts of the country, the weather bureau said Monday.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao and a low pressure area (LPA) will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga, Davao Region and Soccsksargen.

The LPA was last tracked 40 kilometers south southwest of General Santos City.

“It has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, but it will bring rains over parts of Mindanao,” Aldczar Aurelio of PAGASA said.

He added that the LPA may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Tuesday or Wednesday.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will also be experienced over Batanes and Babuyan Islands due to the frontal system.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have fair weather with isolated rain showers caused by the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over extreme northern Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.
