3 Weather Systems to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

Manila: The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” are expected to continue affecting weather conditions across the Philippines on Sunday, as reported by the national weather bureau.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a 4 a.m. bulletin indicating that the ITCZ will cause cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rains and thunderstorms over Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao. In contrast, the northeast monsoon is forecasted to bring cloudy skies with rain showers over the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and the Ilocos Region.

Additionally, the shear line is likely to result in cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms across Central Luzon. Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms resulting from localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA has alerted
residents that areas experiencing moderate to heavy rains or thunderstorms may face risks of flash floods or landslides. Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions are anticipated for the remaining parts of the archipelago.
