Rains Forecast in Most of PH Due to Multiple Weather Systems

Manila: Most areas in the country will still experience rains caused by several weather systems on Wednesday geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), shear line, and easterlies will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms across Davao Region, Soccsksargen, Eastern Visayas, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Caraga, Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte. Visayas Grid Faces Yellow Alert Due to Insufficient Operating Margin

Manila: The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has placed the Visayas grid on yellow alert from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday due to insufficient operating margin as several power plants are unavailable or at derated capacities. According to Philippines News Agency, the power transmission operator reported that the grid has an available capacity of 2,694 megawatts (MW) while peak demand is around 2,351 MW.
