Negros Island Region Election Officers Encouraged to Implement Barangay Satellite Voter Registration

Negros island region: Election officers in the Negros Island Region (NIR) are being encouraged to arrange satellite voter registrations in barangays in preparation for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) scheduled for next year, an official announced. According to Philippines News Agency, Lawyer Lionel Marco Castillano, the regional director of the Commission on Elections (Comelec)-NIR, stated in an interview that the current voter registration drive aims to encompass as many eligible voters as possible. “We are asking the election officers to submit their respective schedules for satellite registration in their barangays as well as in the malls where possible,”
