Nartatez Assumes Command as New PNP Chief in Surprise Ceremony
Quezon city: Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, Jr. took command of the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday in a surprise ceremony at Camp Crame, presided over by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla. According to Philippines News Agency, Nartatez replaced Gen. Nicolas Torre III, who acknowledged his relief through a message to Remulla but was absent from the ceremony. This change of leadership was directed by President Ferdinand R.
