National Treasurer Announces Regular Jumbo Bond Issuance as Part of Funding Strategy

Manila: A regular issuance of fixed-rate treasury notes (FXTN) for institutional investors is being considered to provide benchmark rates for such securities. ‘We’re hoping (for it) to be a regular part of our issuance since it’s a way for us to establish new benchmark, because the size is already large,’ National Treasurer Sharon Almazan said during a briefing for the official launch of the 31st retail treasury bond (RTB) issuance on Tuesday. DSWD Launches P17-M Sustainable Livelihood Projects in Bago City

Bago city: Thirty-three associations in Bago City, Negros Occidental are recipients of more than PHP17 million in total projects under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). On Tuesday, the egg-laying project of San Jose Farmers Association in Barangay Calumangan was launched, led by Mayor Marina Javellana-Yao and association chair Reynaldo Caballero. PSEi Ends Higher Amid Inflation Slowdown, Peso Slips

Manila: Slowdown of domestic inflation for July 2025 partly boosted investors’ confidence and buoyed the Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) Tuesday, but the peso slipped against the greenback. The main stocks gauge rose 0.08 percent to 6,353.63 points, and the All Shares by 0.12 percent to 3,770.94 points. SRA Commences PHP15 Million Pesticide Procurement to Combat RSSI Infestation

Bacolod: The Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) has initiated the procurement process for pesticides worth PHP15 million to aid farmers in the Visayas region affected by the red-striped soft-scale insect (RSSI) infestation. “We are just completing the necessary documents and the right specifications to immediately procure the pesticides,” stated SRA Board Member David Andrew Sanson, head of the RSSI Task Force.
