PhilHealth Announces Benefit Packages for Wet Season Diseases
Manila: The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) has announced the availability of benefit packages designed to help alleviate the financial burden of treating common wet season illnesses. This announcement comes as weather conditions worsen, with the low-pressure area east of Aurora province developing into a tropical depression named Dante, potentially enhancing the southwest monsoon or “habagat.” According to Philippines News Agency, PhilHealth issued a public advisory urging Filipinos to remain vigilant against W.I.L.D. diseases-water and food-borne illnesses, influenza-like illness, leptospirosis, and dengue. These illnesses often experience an increase in cases during the rainy months due to flooding and prolonged exposure
