Dublin: TikTok has been hit with a 530 million euros (USD601 million) fine by Irish data protection authorities for breaching European privacy rules, marking it one of the largest penalties ever imposed under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Cardinals Continue Pre-Conclave Discussions in Rome

Rome: The eighth session of the general congregation of cardinals was held Friday morning as discussions continued ahead of next week’s conclave, Vatican press office director Matteo Bruni confirmed. More than 180 cardinals were present at the meeting, including more than 120 eligible to vote in the upcoming papal election. Zamboanga City: Authorities have arrested three persons and seized about PHP36.7 million worth of smuggled cigarettes in this city, police reported Saturday. Col. Fidel Fortaleza Jr., city police director, identified those arrested only as ‘Eding,’ 54, of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi; ‘Alwijar,’ 33, of Panamao, Sulu; and ‘Basar,’ 35, also of Panamao. The suspects were arrested along with the contraband at a private wharf in Barangay Campo Islam at about 9:50 a.m. Friday.
