BOC processing donation of 4K abandoned balikbayan boxes to DMW

Manila: The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Thursday said over 4,000 abandoned balikbayan boxes would be donated to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). In a news release, the BOC said it is currently processing the donation of these balikbayan boxes to the DMW, which would oversee their distribution to OFWs. The donation was discussed during the meeting convened by OFW Party-List Rep. Marissa “Del Mar” Magsino on Oct. 22 to address the urgent issue of abandoned balikbayan boxes due to unscrupulous consolidators and deconsolidators.
