PSEi down on last-minute profit-taking, peso weakens

MANILA: The local stock market ended the day lower due to last-minute profit-taking, while the peso weakened on Thursday. The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) declined by 13.89 points to 7,388.92. BUTUAN CITY: Police arrested a major drug suspect and seized PHP6.9 million worth of suspected shabu in an anti-drug operation here on Wednesday, authorities said. The suspect, identified only as “Emman,” 38, a high-value target, was arrested during a sting operation around 9:30 a.m. at the Sports Complex in Purok 2, Barangay Libertad.
