Manila: Former United Coconut Planters Bank president and CEO Jose Querubin has taken his oath of office as a Monetary Board member (MBM) of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). In a statement on Friday, the BSP said Querubin took his oath of office on Thursday at the BSP head office in Manila. Querubin will serve as a member of the Monetary Board until July 2, 2026. Before joining the BSP’s highest policy-making body, Querubin served as the United Coconut Planters Bank president and CEO from 2003 to 2007. Manila: The National Authority for Child Care (NACC) expressed concern on Friday over a film’s “misleading and unlawful depiction of adoption and foster care”. In a statement, NACC said the film Dear Satan promotes misconceptions, such as not taking the legal steps before taking a child home and that a child can be casually chosen. Manila: The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) on Friday defended the policy on cashless transactions by persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) and their relatives, following issues raised by party-list lawmakers during the agency’s budget hearing. During the budget hearing Thursday, Gabriela Rep. Arlene Brosas and ACT Rep.
