Kennon Road fully reopens to motorists

The historic Kennon Road, the shortest route to and from the country’s summer capital, has fully reopened to motorists on Saturday. Joint Inter-Agency Task Force Kennon issued Memorandum No. 15 dated April 1, allowing for the two-way reopening of Kennon Road after its rehabilitation. Only vehicles weighing five tons and below are allowed to traverse the road and drivers are required to follow a speed limit of 30 kilometers per hour, particularly along curves. Six people were killed and at least nine others were wounded in a shooting in downtown Sacramento, the capital city of the US state of California, local police said Sunday. “Officers located at least 15 shooting victims, including six who are deceased,” a spokesperson for the Sacramento Police Department said in a statement.
