8 election gun ban violators nabbed in BARMM

Police authorities in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) announced Friday that eight persons have so far been arrested for violation of the election gun ban since it was implemented on January 9. “The past 12 days of gun ban implementation resulted in the arrest of eight persons, I commend our troops on the ground,” Brig. Gen. Eden T. Ugale, BARMM police director, told reporters here. With such accomplishment, he hopes that field offices and units under Police Regional Office – BARMM will continue to help reduce the chances of violence in the coming national and local elections.

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has sent ceramic water filters and enhanced nutribun (e-nutribun) to victims of Typhoon Odette in Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Mimaropa, and Caraga regions.
