4K tourism workers get vax on Baguio’s 112th Charter Day

The city government here has set aside 4,000 doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines as part of its 112th Charter Day celebration. 2 Zambo cops nabbed for bungling with drug cases

Two policemen, including a senior officer, were separately arrested for the delay and bungling with prosecution of drug cases, which is a violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) director, identified the arrested policemen as Corporal Junhavier Alam Ahmadul, 42; and Lt. Col. Nonito Asdai, 55. DOLE helps 250 distressed OFWs find their way home

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III said 250 distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Kuwait will arrive in the country on Sept. 1 after the government responded to the migrant workers’ urgent request for assistance. Bello said 80 of the troubled OFWs came from the Migrant Workers and Other Overseas Filipinos Resource Center (MWOFRC) while the remaining 170 are domestic and company workers. “These workers have either finished their contracts or have expiring exit visas and victims of various employment contract-related violations,” he said in a news release on Monday.
