Pampanga guv asks LGUs to fast-track vax drive

Governor Dennis Pineda on Friday asked city and municipal mayors in this province to fast-track the vaccination activities in their respective localities as part of the measure to fight the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) including its variants.

Pineda said fast mobilization of vaccines and inoculation of priority groups must be strategized by the local chief executives to ramp up the protection of the residents against the pandemic.

He said the preparation of the master list must be done way ahead prior to the arrival of the vaccines.

“Bilisan ninyo ang rollout ng pagbabakuna sa inyong mga LGUs. Ayusin ang pagma-masterlist (Make it faster the vaccination rollout in your LGUs. Do the masterlist properly), load your systems with the long list of priority groups lalong na ang mga senior citizens at may mga comorbidities (especially senior citizens and those with comorbidities),” the governor told the local officials in an official social media account post.

He also directed the mayors to increase the identified vaccination centers and vaccination personnel.

In his address via live stream on Friday, the governor said that confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the province from July 16 to 29 have reached 1,306 with 73 fatalities.

“In a span of 13 days, we have an average of 100 cases per day. With this, as we discussed with the city and municipal mayors, kailangan na pong maghigpit tayo (there is a need for us to be strict). Let us not wait what had happened to other countries,” he said.

At present, the total number of confirmed cases in the province is 27,058 with total recoveries of 23,989 and active cases of 1,934.

The total number of deaths, on the other hand, is 1,135. The province’s total number of infections includes four Delta variant cases. (PNA)
