Zamboanga Independence Day Job Fair to Feature 3,487 Vacancies: DOLE

Zamboanga city: The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) revealed that a total of 3,487 job vacancies will be available during the Independence Day job fair in the Zamboanga Peninsula. The event, aimed at providing employment opportunities to job seekers in the region, will take place at two key locations: KCC Mall in Zamboanga City and Gaisano Mall in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

According to Philippines News Agency, DOLE-Zamboanga Peninsula Director Albert Gutib announced the details, stating that the initiative follows an order from Secretary Francis Tolentino for all regional offices to conduct "trabaho agad" job fairs. These job fairs are expected to provide immediate employment opportunities, with 1,671 positions available for overseas employment and 1,816 positions for local employment. The event will see participation from six overseas placement agencies and 35 local companies.

Gutib advised job seekers to target positions that align with their educational background or qualifications to increase their chances of securing employment. Additionally, partner agencies will be present to offer one-stop shop services, providing job seekers with access to various programs and services under one roof.

Gutib further mentioned that 21 agencies have been invited to participate in the one-stop shop services, aiming to share their programs and services with the citizens. This initiative is part of the celebrations for the 128th Philippine Independence Day, which carries the theme "Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan (Freedom, Future, History)." The theme highlights the connection between the nation's freedom, its future, and its rich historical legacy.
