Yulo Bags Another Bronze at Junior Worlds

Pasay city: Filipino gymnast Karl Eldrew Yulo concluded his participation in the 3rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships with a bronze medal at the Manila Marriott Hotel, Newport World Resorts. Yulo secured his second bronze in the competition by scoring 14.000 points in the horizontal bar, finishing behind Colombian Camilo Vera, who scored 14.533, and American Danila Leykin, who earned 14.233 points.

According to Philippines News Agency, Yulo had previously captured a bronze medal in the floor exercise on the preceding day. The 17-year-old gymnast expressed his satisfaction with his performance, noting the payoff of his hard work and extending gratitude to his supporters and coaches, Filipino Reynald Capelan and Japanese Munehiro Kugimiya, for their guidance throughout the tournament. Yulo had earlier achieved a silver medal in the vault event at the Asian Junior Championships in Jecheon, South Korea.

In other results from the Junior World Championships, Camilo Vera and Japanese gymnast Nao Ojima were declared co-champions in the parallel bars, both scoring 13.866 points. Chinese gymnast Lanbin Yang, who clinched the gold in the floor exercise, finished third with a score of 13.600 points. Ojima also secured a silver medal in the individual all-around category.

The vault event saw international neutral athlete Arsenii Dukhno claim the gold medal with a score of 14.333 points, marking his second gold after winning the individual all-around. British gymnasts Sol Scott and Evan McPhillips took the silver and bronze medals with scores of 14.066 and 13.950, respectively.

In the women’s events, Chinese gymnast Yina Xiang triumphed in the beam event with a score of 14.133, while Japanese gymnast Yume Minamino secured the silver medal, adding to her individual all-around gold. American Caroline Moreau placed third with a score of 13.600, her second bronze of the competition.

Japanese gymnast Misa Nishiyama excelled in the floor exercise, winning the gold with a score of 13.533, and also earned a bronze in the individual all-around. French gymnasts Elena Colas and Maiana Prat captured the silver and bronze medals in the floor exercise, with Colas also winning silver in the individual all-around.
