Antique: The World Cafe of Opportunities (WCO), in partnership with the provincial government here, gathered 1,841 aspirants, hoping to find employment in the one-day job fair at the Robinsons Place on Friday. WCO aimed to link graduates of technical-vocational education and other trainings from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) with employment opportunities from national government agencies, private companies, and other institutions.

According to Philippines News Agency, TESDA - Antique Director Rick Abraham stated that 28 participating agencies were offering opportunities for welders, drivers, and other skilled workers. An initial 45 aspirants were hired on the spot as of 2 p.m.

Roland Agondez, who availed of the Shielded Metal Arc Welding training in 2019, expressed gratitude for the training he received from TESDA, which led to his on-the-spot hiring. "I worked in a company in Metro Manila as a welder after my TESDA training, but I went home to Antique last Dec. 2025 to take some rest," he shared.

The job fair was a collaborative effort with the Antique provincial government through the Public Employment Service Office, Department of Labor and Employment, Offices of Sen. Loren Legarda and Rep. Antonio Agapito Legarda, and the local government unit of San Jose de Buenavista.
