WOMEN’S RUGBY 7S TEAM GEARS UP FOR SEA SEVENS IN SINGAPORE

LABUAN, Excitement brews as Malaysia's women's rugby 7s team prepares to showcase their prowess at the Southeast Asia 7s (SEA Sevens) tournament scheduled in Singapore next month. National team director Abdul Rashid Adlie said the players are currently diligently honing their skills through self-training, with plans to convene at the COBRA Club Petaling Jaya for centralised training on April 14. With eyes set on regional success, Abdul Rashid expressed the team's ambitious target of securing at least the second-best position in the Asian region. "Thirteen players along with five officers will embark on their journey to Singapore on May 1, we have undertaken comprehensive preparations for the prestigious tournament and are poised for the challenge ahead. 'We are hopeful for the best possible outcome," he said to Bernama today. He said the upcoming SEA Sevens tournament promises to be a thrilling showcase of talent and determination as Malaysia's women's rugby 7s team aims to make their mark on the region al stage. SEA 7s will take place with pool matches from 2-3 May 2024 played at the Jurong West Stadium, and the finals played at the Singapore National Stadium on Friday 5th May 2024.
