VP Sara Secures New Approval for May 2-15 Overseas Travels

Malaca±ang: Malaca±ang has issued a travel authority allowing Vice President Sara Z. Duterte to embark on overseas travels from May 2 to 15.

According to Philippines News Agency, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro confirmed that the Office of the President (OP) approved Duterte's request to travel on the specified dates. Duterte had earlier submitted a travel plan covering several European and Asian destinations, including the Netherlands, South Korea, Belgium, Germany, and the United Kingdom, initially scheduled from April 23 to May 15.

Her itinerary was later adjusted following what was described as the OP's 'last-minute' issuance of the foreign travel authority. Malaca±ang denied this claim, stating that the issuance followed standard procedures. Castro announced that the OP approved Duterte's latest request for a revised travel authority on April 28.

Based on the previous authorization by the OP, Duterte is permitted to travel 'while on leave of absence, at no cost to the government.'
