Abu dhabi: Voter registration in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) for the November 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) resumes on Monday. The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has urged eligible individuals to register at local Comelec offices or designated satellite registration centers across cities and municipalities within the region.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Comelec offices will be open to accept registration applications from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays, including holidays, barring any contrary announcements from the Comelec. The BARMM provinces covered include Maguindanao del North, Maguindanao Del Sur, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, and Special Geographic Areas.
Eligibility criteria for regular voters require individuals to be 18 years and older, having resided in the Philippines for at least one year, and in their respective areas for at least six months prior to Election Day. Sangguniang Kabataan voters need to be aged between 15 and 30 years and must have lived in their barangay for at least six months before the elections.
In addition to voter registration, the Comelec is also processing applications for name and status changes, corrections of entries, reactivations of registration records, and inclusion and reinstatement of names in the voters' list. Updates to records for persons with disabilities, senior citizens, members of indigenous peoples, and indigenous cultural communities, as well as transfers from overseas to local registration, are also being accepted during this period. The registration period is set to continue until March 31, 2026.
