Victorias City Launches PHP1.2-B Sidlak Residential Complex Project

Victorias City: Victorias City in Negros Occidental has unveiled the development of the 2.5-hectare Sidlak Residential Complex, marking the city’s first vertical housing project under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program. ‘The PHP1.2-billion Sidlak Residential Complex will be the new icon of the city,’ Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez announced during his State of the City Address at the public plaza on Monday night.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Sidlak Residential Complex is located within the 25-hectare Sidlak Victorias Global City in Hacienda Loreto, Barangay XIII. The project includes 10 five-story buildings comprising a total of 1,241 housing units and features 60 percent green space. Residents will have access to amenities such as parking areas, a commercial zone, a swimming pool, a clubhouse, and a playground.

Mayor Benitez emphasized that the development incurs no cost to the city government, as private partners have taken full responsibility for the construction and development through a joint venture agreement. Over 1,300 applicants, including government employees, teachers, uniformed personnel, and private individuals, have already expressed interest in the housing project, underscoring the city’s commitment to providing housing solutions for low- to middle-income families.

The Sidlak Residential Complex is a key component of the city’s Sidlak Victorias Global City initiative, which also includes the Sidlak Land Development and the Victorias City New Government Center. The groundbreaking ceremony for the complex was led by Benitez on April 25, alongside officials from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Home Development Mutual Fund, known as Pag-IBIG Fund.

In November 2023, Benitez signed a joint venture agreement with Scheirman Construction Consolidated Inc. to develop the residential project. This collaboration encompasses financing, design, construction, and development of a mixed-use integrated infrastructure aimed at creating a sustainable community. Earlier in the year, the city government entered into a memorandum of agreement with the DHSUD and the Pag-IBIG Fund to implement the housing project as part of the 4PH, the Marcos administration’s flagship shelter program.
