Valdez, Baron Climb in 2025 Volleyball All-Star Voting

Manila: Creamline's Alyssa Valdez and PLDT's Majoy Baron have gained significant traction in the latest standings for the 2025 Volleyball All-Star Showcase, heading into the event's final week of voting.

According to Philippines News Agency, Valdez and Baron have both ascended to second place in their respective categories for Team Heart. Meanwhile, PLDT's Kath Arado has reclaimed the top position in the libero race for Team Hustle in the event organized by Sports Vision, scheduled for May 1 in Candon, Ilocos Sur.

Valdez currently holds 14.60 percent of the votes in the outside hitter category for Team Heart, surpassing Capital1 rookie Bella Belen who stands at 12.47 percent, while her Creamline teammate Jema Galanza leads with 30.08 percent. Baron has risen to second in the middle blocker standings for Team Heart with 18.84 percent of the votes, trailing behind Jeanette Panaga who leads at 36.91 percent, and pushing Nxled's MJ Phillips to third with 16.19 percent.

In the setter rankings, Creamline's Jia De Guzman maintains a strong lead with 72.05 percent, positioning her to secure the starting role for Team Heart. Cignal's Erika Santos and Akari's Justine Jazareno continue to lead in the opposite spiker and libero standings with 39.02 percent and 49.76 percent respectively.

For Team Hustle, Arado has regained the number one position in the libero poll with 35.85 percent, moving ahead of ZUS Coffee's Alyssa Eroa, who holds 25.43 percent. In the setter category, Kim Fajardo from PLDT leads with 61.75 percent, while Bernadeth Pons (Creamline) and Eya Laure (Choco Mucho) are leading contenders in the outside hitter race with 36.94 percent and 29.54 percent, respectively.

Tots Carlos of Creamline is at the forefront in the opposite spiker position with 42.08 percent, and PLDT's Mika Reyes and Akari's Fifi Sharma are close competitors in the middle blocker standings with 29.52 percent and 28.44 percent, respectively.

In the Spikers' Turf segment of the All-Star voting, Criss Cross athletes are dominating for Team Power. Adrian Villados leads the setter position at 69.42 percent, while Jude Garcia and Menard Guerrero are ahead in the opposite spiker and libero categories with 68.74 percent and 68.61 percent, respectively.

Savouge's Louie Ramirez and Jaron Requinton from Criss Cross have surpassed former leader Noel Kampton, with Ramirez and Requinton holding 29.87 percent and 29.43 percent, respectively, in the competitive outside hitter category.

JP Bugaoan continues to lead Team Power's middle blocker tally with 28.92 percent, followed by Billie Anima who has moved to second with 24.33 percent, pushing Kim Malabunga to third.

For Team Passion, Savouge's Mark Calado, Vince Imperial, and Rikko Marmeto are leading the votes. Calado and Imperial maintain their leads in the opposite spiker and setter categories with 53.85 and 49.52 percent, while Marmeto has overtaken Criss Cross' John Pepito in the libero race with 51.86 percent.

Alche Gupiteo and Jau Umandal are leading the outside hitter category for Team Passion, with Poy Colinares and Giles Torres topping the middle blocker rankings.
