UAE Condemns School Shooting in Tacloban; Sends Sympathies to Victims

Tacloban: The United Arab Emirates on Tuesday condemned the mass shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City that killed three students and injured several others.

According to Philippines News Agency, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Abu Dhabi "strongly condemns such criminal acts" and "firmly rejects all forms of violence and extremism aimed at undermining security and stability." The Ministry expressed its condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of the Philippines. It also conveyed wishes for a speedy recovery for all those injured in the incident.

The school shooting, a rare event in the Philippines where gun possession is heavily regulated, involved two minor Grade 9 students. These students were apprehended following the incident. Police are now conducting an extensive investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
