Zamboanga city: Authorities have arrested two drug suspects and seized some PHP3.4 million worth of illegal drugs in an anti-drug operation early Monday in this city, the police said. The Special Operations Unit-9 (SOU-9) of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) identified the arrested suspects only by their aliases, Halisan, 42, and Aliyasman, 35.
According to Philippines News Agency, the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 3:14 a.m. in Sitio Logoy Diutay, Barangay Talon-Talon. 'The suspects were immediately arrested after selling sachets of suspected shabu to an undercover policeman,' the SOU-9 said in its report.
Seized from the suspects were some 500 grams of suspected shabu in 10 heat-sealed transparent plastic packs, a bundle of boodle money, and a mobile phone. The suspects were handed over to Zamboanga City Police Station 12 for detention, while the evidence is with SOU-9 for proper handling.
Both suspects will be charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The anti-drug operation was carried out with assistance from various police units and the Naval Intelligence and Security Group-Western Mindanao.
