Trillion Peso March Concludes Peacefully Without Major Incidents

Manila: The ‘Trillion Peso March’ in Metro Manila on Sunday concluded without any major incidents, as confirmed by Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla. The large-scale protest, centered around anti-corruption themes, particularly in flood control projects, was noted for its peaceful execution and respect for constitutional rights.

According to Philippines News Agency, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the protests, highlighting the importance of respecting the constitutional right to assemble and air grievances. Remulla praised the event as achieving the best possible outcome, emphasizing that the progress in anti-corruption efforts, although gradual, is becoming evident to the public. He underscored the necessity for public demonstrations to coexist with the government’s duty to safeguard communities and ensure uninterrupted service delivery.

Philippine National Police acting chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, Jr. also lauded the police force for their professionalism and restraint during the event.
