Three Weather Systems Forecast to Bring Rains Across the Philippines

Manila: Three weather systems are forecast to bring rains over parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday. In its 4 a.m. advisory, the weather bureau detailed the expected weather conditions across various regions.

According to Philippines News Agency, the shear line is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Aurora and Quezon. Meanwhile, the regions of Caraga and Davao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the influence of easterlies.

Metro Manila and the rest of Calabarzon are forecast to have cloudy skies with light rains as a result of the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan.” Additionally, Visayas, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, and the rest of Mindanao will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also attributed to easterlies.

The remainder of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to the northeast monsoon. Northern Luzon is expected to face strong to gale northeast winds and rough to very rough coastal waters. Central Luzon and the eastern section of Southern Luzon will have moderate to strong northeast winds with moderate to rough seas. The rest of the archipelago will experience light to moderate northeast winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
