Three More Bodies Recovered in Search Operations for Sunken Vessel Trisha Kerstin 3

Zamboanga city: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has successfully retrieved three additional bodies as part of the ongoing search and rescue operations for the sunken M/V Trisha Kerstin 3.

According to Philippines News Agency, the joint search and rescue team, which includes government agencies, local government units, and fisherfolk volunteers, discovered two bodies near Baluk-Baluk Island and another near Lantawan Island in Basilan province. The recovered bodies will be transported to Zamboanga City for identification and further procedures.

The recent recovery has brought the total number of fatalities to 39, while the number of survivors remains at 316. The ill-fated vessel was carrying 332 passengers and 277 crew members when it departed from the Port of Zamboanga City at 9:20 p.m. on January 25, bound for Jolo, Sulu.
