Manila: Over 216,000 local and overseas job vacancies will be available during the 123rd Labor Day Nationwide Job Fairs on May 1, as announced by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). This initiative aims to connect Filipino job seekers with employment opportunities across the country.
According to Philippines News Agency, DOLE Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma highlighted that 216,144 positions, including 181,933 local vacancies and 34,211 overseas roles, will be offered by 2,281 employers at 69 job fair locations nationwide. This collaboration with the private sector underscores DOLE’s commitment to facilitating job matches in the labor market.
The main event at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City will feature prominent companies such as Union Bank of the Philippines, Meralco, DMCI Construction Company, 2Go Group, McDonald’s, SM, Robinsons, San Miguel Foods, Aboitiz, Toyota, Honda, Accenture, Epson, and Banco De Oro (BDO), among others, providing a variety of employment options.
The regions with the highest number of job opportunities include the National Capital Region with over 63,000 jobs, Central Luzon with around 32,000, Calabarzon with over 18,000, Western Visayas with nearly 18,000, and the Zamboanga Peninsula with more than 13,000 vacancies.
Key industries represented at the job fairs will include manufacturing, retail, business process outsourcing (BPO), accommodation/food service activities, and financial/insurance sectors. Notable vacancies consist of positions such as production operators, sales clerks, call center representatives, service crews, and microfinance officers.
Job seekers are encouraged to reach out to their nearest Public Employment Services Office (PESO) or DOLE regional or field offices to obtain detailed information about the venues, employers, and available job roles.
